I like your rankings. This is what i think you could change. Daniel Hand Vibe should be atleast in the top 50 or lower. DHHS vibe had a great year nad went to nationasl for the first time. we got 2 grand champions, 3rs place at fame ny, gold medals, and best vocals and bets choregraphy. I think we did better then Papillion-La Vista South High School Titanium who you put as number 49 and 57 american Leadership Academy "Evolution" 56.Manchester H.S. "Capital Swing". Thank you

In support of my #64 Ranking for Daniel Hand H.S. "Vibe" FAME NEW YORK 1ST RUNNER-UP Manchester H.S. "Capital Swing" Won a majority of the top awards, but chose not to attend FAME Nationals. 2ND RUNNER-UP Daniel Hand H.S. "Vibe" FAME NATIONALS I0TH RUNNER-UP American Leadership Academy "Evolution" Also 1st time attending a National Championship I believe. 12TH RUNNER-UP Papillion La Vista South H.S. "Titanium" Also 1st time attending a National Championship I believe and I know they have several Grand Championships for 2012 in their possession. 13TH RUNNER-UP Daniel Hand H.S. 'Vibe" I trust the judging most of the time. You have to take into account that there are very many high-caliber Show Choirs spread accross much of the country. I also am acknowledging at this point that I did rank Papillion La Vista South H.S. "Titanium" too high and Troy Buchanan H.S. "Express" too low and will be flip-flopping them to #62 and #49. THIS WAS DONE ERRINGLY AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED BEFORE I POSTED MY RANKING.

Do you have the verification I would need before I could change the ranking and put Daniel Hand above Papillion La Vista South?

I am just curious as to why burbank and burroughs are so high compared to los alamitos. los al never lost to either of them this year. granted they beat burbank on a technicallity, however they still beat burroughs fair and square. personally i feel they belong in the top 5 hands down and arguably the top 3. also, in your womens section, you have brea olinda ahead of los alamitos. in my opinion they deserve the #1 or #2 spot after their fantastic performance at FAME Nationals.

I'm not trying to say that you should change your rankings, but Homewood beat every southern group except Clinton (I agree on them being #1), got a 190 out of 200 at Enterprise, and got a standing ovation from the judges. Don't you think "The Network" at least should be top 25?

Homewood "The Network" was having a truly amazing competitive season until they traveled into the heart of Indiana and suffered a defeat at Franklin Central H.S. by Zionsville "Royalaires" and also Dekalb and Pike, two Indiana schools who never made my Top 50. Unlike Jackson Prep, maybe I have them a little bit high, who saved their best performance for last, Homewood faltered slightly at the end. At any rate and I know that I won't hear the end of this, except for Clinton and a handful of elite groups out of California and this was quite evident at FAME Nationals, most of the FAME Regionals and Nashville National Championships, the majority of major Show Choir battlefields are almost always dominated by Midwest groups. For this reason it is difficult to break into the Top 25. I acknowledged a mistake I made that will switch #49 and #62. Otherwise, I will be making no changes to my Final Ranking. Hopefully, no hard feelings.

Ah, the perils of trying to do a Final Ranking and still remain fair to all of the Show Choirs competing within the Show Choir Community. Especially with-out a Universal Scoring/Point System that is neither open to the entire community to view or set up in such a way to make it fair to all the competing Show Choirs. It's not easy to do, is it? #4,#5 and #8 They are all high and very close together, when it comes to judging the level of talent at that level of competition. But anyway, I will try to explain my reasoning. #1. Clinton "Attache" has the longest un-beaten streak in the nation right now and all against high-level competition. #2. Wheaton-Warrenville South "The Classics" now has back-to-back FAME National Championships. #3. Buffalo Grove "Expressions" and #6. La Crosse Central "Grand Central Station" after suffering early season defeats , both ended their seasons with an amazing string of performances and Grand Championships. #4. Burbank "In Sync" in their only confrontation with Los Alamitos soundly out-pointed "Sound FX" and lost due to a fairly large penalty. #5. John Burroughs "Powerhouse" just a short time later lost to Burbank the same way, on a fairly large penalty, having out-scored "In Sync" by a pretty fair margin. By all indications Burbank and John Burroughs probably finished neck and neck at the highly prestigious SoCal Competition. #7. Cedar Rapids Kennedy "Happiness, Inc." although not facing an over-powering line-up, did take home a well-earned National Championship. And then #8. Los Alamitos "Sound FX" I look at their choice not to challenge for California's #1 ranking and then suffering not a humiliating or embarrassing but fairly sound defeat I believe at FAME Nationals. No doubt my whole #1-#8 could have changed had John Burroughs "Powerhouse" competed at FAME Nationals and/or Los Alamitos "Sound FX" competed at SoCal. As for the Single Gender, that's a whole different ball-game. #1. Center Grove "Debtones" I believe still possess the longest un-beaten streak in the country and against some pretty formidable opponents. #2-#4 I ranked on a season average and were so close, like a humidity that could have been cut with a knife. John Burroughs squeeking on top. Brea Olinda was also fantastic at FAME Nationals and I believe could have also won that competition. Brea Olinda wins out on season average, but definitely congratulations goes out to Los Alamitos on their Championship. Other than that, I DON'T know what to tell you. You could settle for Show Choir Ranks #12. Los Alamitos "Sound FX", #22. Burbank "In Sync" and #24. John Burroughs "Powerhouse" . After having seen the FAME Nationals Championships live and in person I know I could never rank Los Alamitos "Sound FX" #1-#4 and I would have a difficult time ranking their Single Gender #1 or #2. But mostly I also want to say that I find both yours and Show Choir Ranks Systems to be highly un-researched which makes both of them un-fair, inadequate and highly out of proportion to what should be a quality, no non-sense Show Choir Ranking. Hope-fully, no hard feelings.

Jerry, My rankings are completely researched and totally un-biased and completely sensical. I account for all competitions I can find virally as well as anything I hear about. I have been participating in show choir and running this system for years, and have 10x the experience you have on the subject, so it does bring about hard feelings when you call my system non-sense, especially when you post your rankings - which do include bias - on my system, which I graciously allow. I however, will not allow you to bash my system on my own website. You are more than welcome to express the fact that you believe choirs should be placed elsewhere, however, calling my system un-fair and non-sense will not be tolerated, especially when the system is run based off of a numerical forumula which relies only on statistics. As for my system being un-researched, I research weekly to find competition results as well as reaching out into the community to individuals I know to keep improving my results and keeping them as up to date as possible. Additionally, now that I am partners with Song In Motion - who believes and sponsors my system because of it's fairness and un-biased natures as well as accurate results - we will be including official representatives to report scores into the system for official results. I don't understand how this system is un-fair, biased, or in any way non-sense. It is the system which holds the most structure, least amount of bias, and most complete ranking nationally.

Jerry, Thank you for your explaination of your ranking however insulting other's rankings is not cool especially on their own website. No one will ever agree with any ranking system 100%. We all seem to have fairly accurate systems and I find it refreshing and insightful to see others points of view as to how the rankings should work. We should attempt refrain from personal attacks on each others rank systems. We all put a great deal of time and effort into our rankings and do not deserve to be bashed just because they may not always agree. Sidenote: All formal and calculated rankings aside, My personal top 5 over the last few years would have to be Clinton, Wheaton, Burroughs, Burbank, and Los Al (in no particular order). Just thought I would throw that out there and see what you guys think.

My only difference of opinion in going over the last few years and I am going back to 2010, is that I would have to add Waubonsie Valley and Buffalo Grove to that list and in all probability would be giving both of them an over-all rating above that of Los Alamitos for that period of time. I know. I would be further ahead just keeping my mouth shut.
But on a sidenote of my own: These are the Top 12 Show Choirs that have shown the most consistency in finishing in the Top 16 of the Final Show Choir Rankings since 2007. Some food for thought. Ankeny Buffalo Grove Burbank Carmel Center Grove Clinton Fairfield John Burroughs La Crosse Central North Central Waubonsie Valley Wheaton Warrenville South and followed very closely by Urbandale. Why 2007? As I have aptly been told. Although I knew about it long before then, from watching a friends videos, 2007 was the year that I attended my first live competitions and thus my active participation in the activity began. Apparently, this makes me somewhat inexperienced. Although shortly thereafter, thanks to SHOW CHOIR RATING SYSTEM'S "You Rank", I became interested in doing my own Final Ranking and judging from the replies and comments I have received I would assume that the bulk of the people viewing my rankings would agree that my Final Rankings have become fairly accurate. I base a great deal of my rankings on my past involvement and experiences with DCI, DCA ,BOA and the Winter Activities of WGI, but Show Choir for me really began in 2007. As per usual, I welcome replies and comments and I do think I have learned a lot about Show Choir in a short amount of time.

Sorry this is a bit late but I was just reading through these comments and had a few thoughts about papillion la-vista south titanium. They beat #32 ranked lincoln southwest resonance at their first competition while it was lincoln sw's last competition at Grand Island (LSW finished 3rd at that competition). Also factor in that they lost by just one point to #12 Omaha Westside at Lewis Central. They were also within a few points of #9 Waukee Millenium at Sloan high school. I did see Daniel Hand at FAME Nationals and they were good but not as well rounded and chorally sound as Titanium. Titanium was indeed ranked 12th at nationals beating Daniel Hand who was 13th.

Did you see the score sheets at Lewis Central? I worked my magic and got a hold of a copy after watching the competition all day and Papio did not lose by 1 point to Omaha Westside. In rankings Omaha Westside had all 1st places, they had the highest score by 18 points and BC, BV, BB. None of that is even close to 1 point. I competed at Lewis Central from 2004-2008 and I remember a small ballot being used in finals which means that groups do not win by as much. So 18 points is a lot more than 18 points. I just thought that I would throw some actual facts into this conversation.

Jerry, I am a Junior at Pleasant Hill High School. You probably have no idea where that is, or who we are. I would like to respectfully ask you to watch our 2012-2013 show on youtube if you have a spare 20 minutes, and provide any critque or reccomendations. I would really appriciate it.
